Thanks Fabian

I keep forgetting that people can upload videos to their service.
I use it do download classic radio programing and movies that are now in the public domain.

I still thing we need a good page that sorts the videos by topic. Archive.org would want topic and other key words for their indexing process.

FYI: We have just received an account at YouTube for Nonprofits. I
lack time to work on this at the moment, but maybe someone wants to
take over.
I'd like to remind anyone using / uploading videos of the importance
of **also** making them available on archive.org:

* It converts the videos to many more formats than the original, all
available for legal, direct downloading

* There is also support for subtitles

* It improves the availability and archival of content (compared to
restrictions on other services)

* Archive.org is run by a non-profit (The Internet Archive) and as
such is not as strongly influenced by profit-oriented influencing:
https://archive.org/about/

Here is an example of a video with subtitles I recently uploaded:
https://archive.org/details/WhatIsBitcoin

The uploading procedure at archive.org has changed a lot and is easier
now.

When opening a dedicated account for this, any bookmarks will be
available on an RSS feed, effectively generating the equivalent of an
RSS video channel. Here is an example:
https://archive.org/bookmarks/MagicFab (notice the RSS icon)

I can help with this, but the videos need to be available in source
format, hosted somewhere for me to upload (no downloading from
YouTube) and have complete, clear metadata (authors, description,
licence, contact information).

Cheers,

Fabian
