its implementation in the Municipality of Kalamarià (Greece)
Good day to all,
A new article has just come up on JoinUP (European Web Observatory for
Free Software in all European public administration),
and it talks about the efforts of the Municipality of Kalamarià to
implement LibreOffice in all its premises and the cooperation with
GreekLUG <http://tinyurl.com/aa9a3an>:
'Government's use of ubiquitous office tools hinders open source'
<https://joinup.ec.europa.eu/news/governments-use-ubiquitous-office-tools-hinders-open-source>
The widespread use by the Greek government of the ubiquitous
proprietary office suite is hindering public administrations that want
to use open source, says George Georgiadis, head of IT at the Greek
municipality of Kalamarià. The municipality is one of the few that
implement the free and open source office suite Libre Office.
Regards
Constantine
