Hi everyone,

If you are expecting to participate in the January confcal (conference call) meeting, it is customary for the marketing team to use the IRC as an additional tool, this, just in case we need to share links or items found on the internet. There have also been occasions where a confcall telephone link was broken and we kept the meeting going by typing in the discussion highlights on the IRC channel.

If you are new to IRC chat, there is an easy FAQ sheet on how to connect to the IRC using the Pidgin client (I use this software) on my site[1]. If you are new to IRC, then, you may want to try the IRC software and log into a channel before the confcall to practice, just to make sure that it works.

There will be a note sent to the marketing list if there is a change to the LibreOffice channel. Our usual channels are:

#libreoffice

-- This channel is for user questions and general visionary planning chat without code to back it up.

#documentfoundation

-- Public discussions on The Document Foundation

Cheers,

Marc
