thanks for the proposal! A solution that we could use indeed is the wiki. While it is not really ideal as file storage (it tends to get slow and files only get archived, but not deleted), but it exists and people know how to use it.

As for other tools, I'd like to wait how our OwnCloud evaluation works, we're currently testing it internally. If it does, it might be a good place to use for a file storage, and we could also connect an FTP to it, I guess.

E-mail is rather bad, since most providers limit the maximum size to 6-12 MB, maybe 20 MB.
