Hi,

Thanks to some yield management process and timely reservation through
the SNCF (french national rail) travel agency I was able to get both my
train and a room at the five-star Stanhope hotel in the city centre for
under 160 Euros as a full package... It might work for you?
thanks for the hint! I just checked my connections, but it's rather odd
- so odd that I even think I won't make it this year. It's either an
insanely overpriced one hour flight (300 € and more); or changing
planes, or using the train, both of latter mean a trip of about 8 hours
or more, which sucks.
Weird, two years ago I was able to book around that time a direct flight
for about 120 €. Seems the oil prise has risen, or some companies are
getting greedy. ;-)
There are some train connections available with 7 hours, but the price
is not available online. I'll give Deutsche Bahn a call on Monday and
then let's see. ;)
