Hi Tom,

Thank you for your comments on the gestures. :) Sure we will think about the next opportunity.

The other guy is MP Robson Leite who is the author of the bill for ODF in the state of Rio de Janeiro. He is surely in our side and as politician he must be aware on how to talk to his voters.

Because of this bill, I am organizing a cerimony with the state governor of Rio de Janeiro, and sure we'll have another opportunity in Television. :)

LibreOffice is famous!!!! :)

Kind regards.

Hi :)
Thanks. I hope that didn't break any agreements with the television company! We are happy to wait if you have to take those down for a few days! Is it worth posting the date, time and place (Sat and Sun times) to localistion lists and the Brazilian list so that more people tune in to watch at the right times? How can we boost the numbers of people that do watch the right broadcast? Even a small boost might encourage television shows to broadcast other stories about LibreOffice. The LibreOffice people had much better body-language imo. Open, inclusive, strong, confident, gentle = no nervous hand-wringing! A little bit whiny voice at one point but then suddenly strong and confident again. Also looked smart and professional.
The non-LibreOffice guy made a LOT of gestures almost more than people in 'my' country make when they are
dancing! Quite a lot looked nervous and even included hand-wringing and apparently trying to wipe the sweat
from his hands! Somehow he still managed to hold his hands together blocking us out. His glances at the
camera looked more nervous and seldom seemed to draw the audience in. I am guessing he wasn't "on our
side"?

Olivier's subdued gestures added gravitas and even included the "it is simply obvious that what i am saying is true and of course everyone knows it and agrees". Eliane's gestures were very open, showing wrists and palms a lot which is often interpreted as showing the speaker is not hiding anything. Both managed to say LibreOffice quite a lot but not excessively and even got the words OpenSource in a few times and OpenOffice a couple of times to show compatibility / differences.
Ok, if the other guy was on our side maybe i might have been less unkind!
Regards from
Tom :)

Hi :)
The links are not working for me in Gnu&Linux (Ubuntu 10.04 i think) using gecko-based web-browsers
such as FireFox or Seamonkey. Tomorrow i might be able to try in Windows Xp. Perhaps it will be
easier after it's uploaded to YouTube, after the TV company allow it.

Even tho i can't watch the video i am impressed. It's great to hear about LibreOffice getting out
there in a significant way.
Thanks Eliane!
Many regards from
Tom :)

Hi Florian,

:) Thanks for your words!

The program will be repeated on Saturday 24, 6:00 pm and Sunday 25 11:00 am After that, the TV will
give me a copy of the video to post on YouTube.

You can see the program in this link: http://www.tvalerj.tv/WebTv.do

I saw the video yesterday in cable TV, it was really cool. As I said, we don't need money to foment
the LIBO, like some companies do with your proprietary software. We just need an opportunity and
this is what we having here, opportunity, and really, I will catch all of them.

Kind regards

Eliane

I'm very proud to share this information with you, guys. Olivier Hallot
and me were invited by MP Robson Leite to participate in a television
program to talk about open formats. For sure, we talked about LIBO and TDF

The program was recorded yesterday (September 19) and the transmission
will be in the cable TV and trought internet at
http://www.tvalerj.tv/WebTv.do (September 21, 09:00 p.m.). Unfortunaly,
the transmission will be only in Portuguese.
thanks a lot for your engagement, and for sharing these news! Really great! ;-)

I tried to find the video, but it seems I didn't manage to yet. :( Is there any text I could search
for or any direct link? Where do I have to click?

I got something I thought about it all: We don't have much money like
some companies, but we have the belief and love for this project.

And therefore, I dedicate a video for the Community:

We will rock you! ;)
