Hi :)
The Hungarian network sounds like an ideal partner. Even if the basics are
covered there are likely to be good things that can be done with further
funding? Funders like to fund projects that have already attracted funding

elsewhere because it shows the other funders had confidence and that the
project
achieves results. Funders like to claim victory for having added
something new
and they like to get their logos "out there".

EU certainly like to have their logo on projects and it is good for the
projects too. I can say truthfully that we are backed by the EU Lifelong
Learning programme for Transfer of innovation and that gives customers
confidence too. With EU grant applications its competitive and it all
depends on the quality of the proposal and how well it fits the stated
objectives of the EU LLLP. That's where I can help because I know what they
are :-)

But we do need several countries with people committed to deliver - that is
a big advantage of FOSS volunteers who do a lot for the love of it. Getting
some payment is just natural justice at least for a few volunteers.

Hi,

+1
This sounds very interesting,
we already built a learning network in Hungary.

I'll think about this

One thing we could do is propose a project that establishes a learning
network in say 6 partner countries led from Hungary as it already has one
and then links these together.

Any interest in setting up a LO/OOo learning network across Europe? 2
year
projects under the EU partnerships programme are possible with funding
as
in
the link below.

Mobilities payments cover travel and subsistence for a visit to another
partner or partners. Although there has to be a clear
education/vocational
training focus there is nothing to stop other business being done.
Training
and sharing ideas for extending the use of OOo/LO through training and
education would be a good enough title.

Just gauging interest at this point. The funding application would go
in
early 2012 for that year to start in August. Partners need to have
organisations that would agree to participate as it is for
organisations
to
apply rather tan individuals. Multiple such projects are possible
through
different national agencies.

This looks like an interesting source of funds both for enterprises
engaging with LO/OOo and for TDF. So +1 from me on both counts.
