Hi Tom,

[it would be great if you cote the actual message you're answering to and the person you address. Also, as seen in another thread, keep the same subject in the thread or open a new thread, it would help searching the archives of the list, thanks in advance for this].

Yes, because the marketing team has in charge to market the product, but also the community. So being aware of what's going on on each part of the project, its global strategy, having an overview of it and being able to advertise all this is an important task for the health of the project itself. The issue of the task mentioned by Marc is that it requires a lot of time and patience.
