Hi,

I would advise against association of LO with an alcoholic drink. It's a
bad idea to alienate users who have strong feelings against the
consumption of alcohol.

Best regards
Simon

I know we are all busy with getting the bumps ironed out of the LibO
suite, but here is a little recreation exercise.

FIRST OF ALL. We should all discuss the merits of doing this exercise
and discuss if we are comfortable with having an alcoholic drink named
after the LibO suite.

IMO, there would also have to be a DISCLAIMER, posted on our site, such
as: "LibreOffice does not advocate or encourage the abuse of alcoholic
beverages. libreOffice does not, under any circumstances, accept
responsibility for any damages that result to yourself or anyone else,
as well as material damages, due to the consumption of alcoholic
beverages. LibreOffice is an advocate of responsible and safe drinking.
Please do not drink and drive."

ALSO ... if we are to adopt an alcoholic drink, I would suggest that we
offer support for organisations such as MADD (N.America) or similar in
various parts of the world and run a once yearly campaign drive for
these organisations. It would show good will and responsibility to these
organisations on our part.

We are in the process of completing the LibreOffice 3.3 Release Party
wiki page.
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Marketing/LibOReleaseEvents . One of
the sections is on organising the party and a subsection on further
organisational ideas ... of which food and drink.

For the apéritif connoisseurs in the group. Could you come up with a
drink/cocktail (alcoholic and non) as suggestion(s) for a LibreOffice
appéritif? Please attach the suggested name.

ALSO/INSTEAD

Could some of us come up with a suggestion for a non-alcoholic drink
easily served at a non-bar/non-tavern location? Please attach the
suggested name.

This is all in the name of branding fun. The drinks must agree with the
branding colour palette
