 Hi Italo!

Thanks for jumping into this challenge with us (Olivier and Daniel are in
CC)! :) As you already organized many events, you know what we have done in
the last weeks... ;)

At the moment, Olivier are working in the LibreOffice Guaraní translation
workshop and I and Daniel are working in the conference website (
http://latam.conference.libreoffice.org) and the program (in attachment).
We have calls every week with Alcides, professor at the Asunción National
University and our key person there.

Coming back to the invitation, yes, a certification/migration/training
workshop will be great!

After your suggestion, I put it into our draft program (a big slot) as you
can see in attachment. I'm not sure about a certification session yet. At
the moment, I'm talking with a Portuguese candidate (Rute Solipa). Maybe we
could have an online session connecting Paraguay (us), Portugal (Rute) and
Germany (Lothar)...

Finally, there are another important point to talk with you. We need to
present to the BoD a quotation of the lodging and travel costs for the
members because, though we talked in Brussels about the importance to have
a Latin American Conference, until we know, there aren't a specific budget
reserved for this event.

So, we would like to have your support for handling this question. Please,
could you let us know what is the best way to get the BoD's approval? Is it
via Marketing, with you?

I already asked the travel costs for all members except you, the last one.
;) So, after check your travel costs, we will be near of the real cost.
Important: all members will individually follow the formal TDF refund
process, as described in the wiki.

Best!
Gustavo.

Hi Gustavo,

Thanks for the invitation. I will be happy to participate to meet the
LATAM community.

I would like to leverage the opportunity not only for a keynote speech
but also for a workshop about certification, migrations and trainings,
and for a certification review if there are LATAM candidates. I think
that these activities would be of interest for several people.

We have the budget to cover my travel if we can organize certification
related activities, otherwise I have to ask for travel budget approval
from the BoD.

Please let me know. Thanks, Italo

Hi Italo!

As you already know, we are proud to say that the first LibreOffice
Conference Latin America is coming, in July, 18, 19 & 20.

Since around a month ago, we (I, Olivier and Daniel) started to planing
the conference and we found, in Paraguay, the perfect context to host
the event at the Asunción National University: engaged people, nice
structure and an amazing history of collaboration (it's the home of the
Guaraní localization of LibreOffice and Firefox).

(By the way, the idea to have our conference in Asunción was born in the
LibreOffice Conference in Roma!)

So it would be great if you come with us! Nobody can do a wide overview
of our community as you!
Are you able to participate of our conference as a key note speaker?

We are thinking to have you and Xisco (from Europe) here. The other
slots in the program will be covered by us and other local community
members.

Regards
Gustavo
