Dear LibreOffice Localization Team,
My name is Laitei, founder of the Mara Language Preservation (MLP) organization. I am writing to
request the addition of the Mara language to the Weblate translation server so our community can
begin localizing LibreOffice.
To ensure Mara is fully supported as a locale within the LibreOffice codebase—including the
language list box, MS-LangID mapping, and document language settings—I am also preparing the
corresponding Bugzilla enhancement request for the i18n component.
For the codebase and mapping assignments, our technical parameters are:

  *
Language: Mara
  *
ISO 639-3 Code: mrh
  *
Countries: Myanmar (MM) and India (IN)
  *
Script / Layout: Latin (Left-to-Right; does not require CTL or RTL support)

We are fully prepared to submit the necessary Locale Data files (calendar and number formats) and
contribute to the libexttextcat language guessing feature. The Mara language recently achieved
official system-level approval for Unicode CLDR 49 and ICU 79, and our team actively maintains a
standardized dataset of over 152,000 words, which will serve as a strong foundation for our
spell-checking dictionaries and technical UI translations.
Could you please confirm when the Mara language is enabled on Weblate? Additionally, please let me
know if there is anything specific you need me to include in the Bugzilla enhancement ticket for
the i18n engineer.
Thank you very much for your time, guidance, and support.
Best regards,
Laitei
