Hi Sophie.

I hope you remember me :)

yes, I remember you :)

This email is basically to inform you that me and Rajesh Ranjan are
interested in joining the meeting of l10n teams on 22nd sept followed
by attending LibreOffice conference during 23rd to 25th September
2015 at Boston.
That's a great news but note that the conference is in Denmark, at Aarhus.

We have few  points to discuss so as to take ahead localization and
marketing of Libre Office in India.

1. How to localize Libre Office for languages which have been rarely
looked at. (Basically languages like Santali, Bodo, Dogri, Kashmiri,
Sindhi, Konkani, Manipuri, Sanskrit, etc). I have been able to manage
teams for submitting partial translations for some of these languages
(Can be seen from pootle). This needs a boost. We need to sit with
l10n drivers in Document Foundation for discussions on this aspect.

2. We are deeply involved in project called FUEL which stands for
Frequently used entries for Localization. This project is all about
the standardization of terminologies used for translations. Currently
more than 65 languages across the world are with us on this.
Recently, Mozilla foundation has accepted FUEL as one of their
linguistic resources for localizing Firefox and other softwares and
projects. We wish to look at the possibility of use of this project
for localizing Libre Office.

3. How to take the localized softwares to Indian people (Individuals,
Govt, Non-Govt, NGOs, etc) ?  As it is evident from one of our
previous reports, localization teams will be very helpful in taking
this software to the respective community.

4. Off course we will be happy to meet other localization teams and
interact with them to learn about their experiences and about means
of doing things in a better way.

Great and important points, I would be very happy and interested to
discuss all that with you and the others during our meeting. Could you
post them also to the l10n list so others can react and add their points
too?

We will require funds for our travel and accomodation, in case you
feel our participation will make any positive impact of localization
and Libre Office.

Your participation will be highly appreciated :) Note that you will have
to pay for your travel and accommodation first and will be reimbursed
after the conference.
Kind regards
Sophie

Thanks and Regards,

Hi all,

You know that the next LibreOffice conference will be in Aarhus in
Denmark from 23rd to 25th September. For first information see here
http://conference.libreoffice.org/

There is also what we call an 'internal day' on the 22nd dedicated
to team meetings. I would very much like that we have a meeting
between l10n (and NLPs at large) teams this year. There is no better
way to solve and push things than gathering together. So please book
the date in your agenda. TDF can help your for travel/accommodation
refunds.

What I'm thinking about is: - the new Pootle version, what to
enhance, fix - guide translation via OmegaT/GitHub - if needed a
workshop on the l10n work like installing KeyID, search for strings,
... - future of the localization: help files, extended tooltips,
etc. - your ideas :)

Let me know if you are willing to come at the conference, then we
will be able to organize our time together at best. Cheers Sophie
