Hi Andreas,
The Greenlandic/Kalaallisut translation group in LibreOffice has a
problem, that Leif Lodahl thought you could help os with,
The 'pootle-terminology.po'-file is not giving suggestions as it should.
I don't know why, and I can't find anywhere , where I can change
settings for the file.
Shouldn't it be in a Terminology-folder on the same level as
Libreoffice?
In fact, I don't know how terminology suggestions work. It works for
me, and I have never figured out why. :) It is better to ask on l10n
list. Hopefully someone knows.
AFAIK, there are two ways to have Terminology: per project and generic
(for all projects in the language). Project's terminology files can be
generated automatically, in the "Translate" tab of that project.
Project-independent terminology files are stored in the Terminology project.
It looks like you already have a terminology file in libo35x_ui project. I
have no idea why the suggestions wouldn't pop up, though I have a slight
suspicion that it could be because of some context or comment lines in that
file, but that's just a wild guess. Maybe Friedel or Dwayne could have more
insight into this.
OTOH, you can choose to use project-independent Terminology, which I think
makes more sense for our case, since we're only working on LibO and related
projects, and major version upgrades are treated as separate projects. If
you choose to employ that, you just have to have a Terminology project in
your language, and you upload files to it. Then suggestions will be made
from the contents of those files. Greenlandic, while has the Terminology
project, doesn't have any files in it.
What you can probably do is download the pootle-terminology.po file from
libo35x_ui project, clean it up (remove unnecessary strings, contexts and
comments, check spelling etc.), rename it and upload it to your Terminology
project. That might help. No warranties though...
It doesn't work for Estonian either. Never has, afaik.
Estonian doesn't have the Terminology project, and doesn't have a
pootle-terminology.po file in the root folder of libo35x_ui either, so no
wonder. Mihkel, if you want, I can bootstrap an empty Terminology project
for you, so that you could upload your terminology file(s) to it.
