Why does LibreOffice 'speak' of "Prior" and "Next" keys (e.g. in Tools -
Settings, Keyboard tab; or in tooltips for Previous/Next Page in Print
Preview)?
When I first noticed them earlier today, I had no idea what the "Prior" key
could be -- I asked and was told that "it's probably PgUp", and that HP
keyboards have it.

Prior and Next are the terms used in X, also understood by xmodmap for
example. The actual name displayed depends on the system you're on, plus
a few translations or names adapted to the actual keyboards commonly
used, depending on what the system says what language your keyboard is
in.
