Wish to join the Documentation Team

Hi!

My name is Rafael Lima and I use LibreOffice every day to prepare lectures and also to write scientific papers.

I read on the following post that the Documentation Team is looking for a volunteer to review / update the Math Guide for LO 7.0.

https://blog.documentfoundation.org/blog/2020/09/24/documentation-team-status/

I believe I can contribute by doing this task. How can I begin?

Cheers,

Rafael Lima

*The documentation webchat*

Hi Rafael,

Welcome aboard.

Just to add a couple of points to Olivier's welcome message.
There has been a recent changes agreed for the NextCloud workflow and
file/folder naming and I am in the process of updating the Documentation
Contributors’ Guide, both the on-line and downloadable editions, so you
might see confusing information until I have completed the update.
Hopefully this will not take too long, but if you want any clarification
please post to the list and I (or others) will be happy to help.

Olivier mentioned to you that we have bi-weekly on-line meeting via the
Jitsi service. You can find the meeting dates here:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/Meetings
Not sure how the 18:00 UTC time fits in with your schedule, but it would
be great if you get the opportunity to join the meeting.

Sorry for cc'ing you, but I don't know if you are subscribed to the list yet

Best Regards
Dave

Hi Rafael,

It's good that you can attend meetings, I look forward to speaking with you.

In most instances we communicate openly on the documentation list, but I
guess Olivier felt it more appropriate to tell you privately about a
meeting for
Brazilian contributors.

Obviously you can subscribe from any address you choose. I am not aware
of any restrictions on Gmail accounts subscribing to the docs list. I
notice that your email client is Thunderbird on Linux, so you might wish
to log into the Gmail webmail interface and check your Junk folder. I am
always amazed how many genuine emails Google marks with a false positive
flag and sucks them into the junk folder.

I am sure you will do a great job updating the Math Guide for 7.0, it
definitely could use a bit of TLC from someone who actually understands
the subject. The guy who did the 6.4 update was a bit out of his depth.
I know my comments will not upset him, because that guy was me. :))

Best Regards
Dave

gmail.com works fine for me on Ubuntu 20.04 & Thunderbird
