Hi, Peter et. al.,

just a quick explanation: the important thing is NOT to make the word
"Figure" part of the reference, because then there are problems with
translation (one needs to manually edit/translate the reference in LO
Writer, it cannot be localized in i.e. OmegaT).

The whole of a figure reference in a paragraph could be given the
character format “Emphasis”.
It is recommended to only use the actual figure number as the reference
link. Using the word “Figure” as part of the link does cause translation
problems.

Maybe we could use small caps attribute.
