Chapter 2 of Base Handbook uploaded

I have loaded my version of this chapter in the Draft folder.

Who is PK? When I did my uploading, I noticed several chapters of the Base Handbook were already in the Draft folder by this person. Yet I have not seen any notice of anyone uploading them last month. I would think that it would be nice for the two of us to collaborate to get this Guide finished.

Another thing: there is very little change in Base since 6.2, so These few choice need to be added and used for version 6.4.

Hi Dan,

Another thing: there is very little change in Base since 6.2, so These
few choice need to be added and used for version 6.4.

There is a permanent update for the German version of the Handbook.
Latest update ins from 2020-02-04.
See https://www.familiegrosskopf.de/robert/

When I had a look at
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/6.4#Base
there is nothing I would add to the Handbook, because it is a special
Addon, which has been changed (Access2Base).

And
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/6.3#Base
Don't know if this is ironically: 13 bugs have been solved in Base and
this is written down for a Release note - but 539 bugs are open.

Where is the littel change you are writing about? Couldn't be the
"Firebird Migration Assistant", which has appeard in the first LO 6.3 as
not experimental but was so experimental that it disappeard a little bit
later?

Regards

Robert

I was speaking in general knowing that Base does not get very much attention by the developers. I had not checked closely on specific things that might have changed. So, if I understand you, there is nothing new to be added to LO 6.2 to make it 6.4.

Last weekend I filed a bug about the Firebird direct connector. (130334 <https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=130334>) There seems to be a problem with tables with primary keys containing 3 fields. Employee.fdb contains two tables with this property (JOB, PROJ_DEPT_BUDGET).

I have run into a problem with connecting to firebird using either Java or ODBC. The error message involves connecting to localhost in both cases. Perhaps it is my firewall that is doing this.

Hello Dan,
I am Pulkit Krishna. I am the one who has uploaded the few chapters to the
base handbook draft folder. Of Course,I would like that the two of us to
collaborate to get this Guide finished.
