Replacing character styles

I know how to replace a paragraph style with another using Find and Replace. But the latter does not include replacing a character style with another.

Specifically, I want to replace the German names for the styles that Robert uses in the Base Handbook with the English equivalents for the the translations I am doing. Finding all of the German character styles in a chapter gets to be tedious to say the least. Selecting each phrase and double clicking the replacement style is also.

Any ideas?

You can do it with this extension: https://extensions.libreoffice.org/extensions/alternative-dialog-find-replace-for-writer

RFE for core feature: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=78582

I have used that extension in the past, but it hasn’t worked for character
styles for me for several years. That could be a macOS problem, I suppose;
I haven’t tested it on other o/s.
