Taken Calc Guide Chapter 4 For 1st. Review.

At this time I do not have sufficient time to devote the necessary
periods of concentration required to accurately update any existing
chapters of the guides. Therefore I have taken Jean's revised chapter 4
of the Calc Guide for review. This is likely to take me some time
working in very short sessions and my expected return date 1st. June
given on the Guide Status spreadsheet reflects this.

Dave

Great.

I updated the documentation pad on Wednesday, but I failed to update the
spreadsheet (bad on me).
I've got Chapter 5 from the feedback folder for review, and just about
finished, so far no issues, and I expect to have it up to the draft folder
by end of the day.
Chapter 0, Preface, has already been moved to draft after a review.

Hi Drew,

I was waiting to receive the meeting minutes and was beginning to think
there was no meeting this week, so I went to the pad and it seems you
and Cathy attended.

While my present circumstances make it extremely difficult to join the
meeting in the early hours of the morning (my time zone), there are a
couple of things I would like to put forward for a team discussion next
meeting (15th. May I think).

One of those things is to have some kind of agreement on the
organisation of the NC directory organization, even if it's only to
agree on what constitutes Feedback and Draft ?:expressionless:

Best Regards
Dave

Hi Kees,

Thanks for taking on these reviews However, it would be helpful to the
team if you start a new thread when you give notice that you have taken
a chapter, rather than just replying to an existing thread and changing
the subject line.

Hi Kees,

I did a lot of work on Chapter 1, in fact I pretty much rewrote it. With track changes on, it was getting so hard to work with it that I asked Drew to review it and accept or reject my changes. After that, using track changes would not slow me down so much.

When Drew finished reviewing Chapter 1, he put it in the Feedback folder. There was hardly anything else there at the time and I had forgotten that it is there. Meanwhile, I had started working on Chapter 3, and also had other commitments and travel to deal with.

So, I had cleaned up/clarified/organized/updated Chapter 1. But what I had not done was a higher level review of the chapter, nor had I carefully gone over the release notes and modified the chapter accordingly.  I don't remember now but there may need to be some new screenshots as well.

All of this to say that I was not done with Chapter 1 yet. However, it has been languishing for a while and you may have already started to work on it. If you have started, that is fine and please continue. Just keep in mind that it was not quite ready for review.

One of the things that needs to be mentioned is the Notebook bar. When the team discussed it, I think Drew offered to write an appendix about it.  Thus, the chapter needs to mention that the Notebook bar exists, show a screenshot, and refer to the appendix.

I will let you know if anything else comes to mind that should be included.

I'm sorry. I thought it was the easiest way to copy the email address.
But I will start a new thread the next time.

I am almost finished reviewing. Maybe it is best if you wait until I uploaded my version and than you can look at my changes and finish the rest of your work.
I also updated the styles.

Greetings, Kees

Glad you are on the case.

It was my oversight. You did nothing wrong:)

Hi Cathy

I finished reviewing and uploaded my version to the feedback folder.
So you can continue with is.
