Revised LO v5.0 template draft

I have made a further change to the draft template: I created
Tip/Note/Caution list styles (associated with the Tip/Note/Caution
paragraph styles) to format Tip/Note/Caution headings with an icon but
no background color. Thanks to Bruce Byfield for showing me how to do
this; it's something I should have learned long ago. (Icons can be
changed later if we want different ones.)

I also renamed the template. It is here:

In the United States, Gold Stars are typically viewed as something
positive --- an outcome that is desirable.

Consequently, I'd suggest changing that icon to something else.

I do like not having to do Cautions, Notes, and Tips in tables.

Is there a tutorial somewhere that explains how to place icons in styles
like that?

Good point.

I don't know. I could write one, unless Bruce Byfield has written it
up somewhere other than in the book he's writing (which I'm editing).
I'll ask him.

Until I looked at how that style was constructed, I had completely
forgotten that one could use any image as an icon, in list-styles.
">Numbering Style >Images" is where the icons in these styles are from.
">Number Style >Number >Graphics" and "Number style>Number >Linked
Graphics" both allow one to use either an image in the gallery, or from
one's disk drive, as an icon.

And just to rub in how much I've forgotten about styles:
* I've been editing another document, in which I have a list style that
uses an image I made, as the icon;
* Circa 2005, I described how to create that type of style, in the

Bruce says he has written a tutorial on this topic, and it should be
published within a week. I'll link to it here when I have the info,
unless he does that himself.

A big thank you to Jean for the work she has put into this.

A "/heads up/" for anyone using the Template Changer extension:

Version 1.2.6 offered on LO Extensions
(http://extensions.libreoffice.org/extension-center/template-changer)
and
ODF Authors
(http://www.odfauthors.org/libreoffice/english/resources-for-contributers/template-changer-extension/view)
does not work correctly on some recent versions of LO.

I have successfully tested the latest version 1.2.7c on versions 4.2.x,
4.3.x & 4.4.1RC (does not yet work on 5.0beta).
This latest version is available from Bugzilla (attachment to
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60592&redirected_from=fdo#c11)
and I have uploaded a copy to ODF Authors:
http://www.odfauthors.org/libreoffice/english/resources-for-contributers/template-changer-extension-new/view

Hope this helps.

Dave

I didn't realise there was an updated version of Template Changer. Thanks, Dave!

Finally getting back to this.

Migrating to this new template also fixed an issue I was having with
chapter numbers.

I have changed the Caution icon and replaced the draft template for 5.0

Here is Bruce Byfield's tutorial explaining how to place icons in list styles.
