[libreoffice-l10n] guide for scholars

Hi Valter, Tom, Giovanni,

Have you already the English version? We can translate it also to
Italian

Thanks for all the responses and kudoos.
Let me start sharing those: Kees Kriek from the Dutch language community
just helped me moving the document to the ODF Author's style. And I
already had great support from Barend Jonkers with improvements too.

Then we'll find a volunteer for a first translation to English.
I think the document should be pushed in the ODF Authors structure by then.
To be continued..

Cheers,
Cor

I can't find the Dutch version on
http://nl.libreoffice.org/ondersteuning/documentatie/.
Am I looking in the wrong place?

If so, where is the right place to look?

It's not yet there. Will ask Kees to add it there.

Thanks.

Is that fine for you to proceed?

Yes.
Thanks for the copies.
I don't know how soon I will be able to translate it.
(That's what, six documents in my to-be-translated queue.)

jonathon

It doesn't have the geek in-jokes/cultural references that the German
comments in the LibreOffice source code has.

It's not yet there. Will ask Kees to add it there.
But I've both the odt and the pdf attached.

Is that fine for you to proceed?

Thanks a lot for your help!
Cor

Oh, but if it needs to be translated to English first, I can see that
someone/more from the Dutch language community helps with that. I'm sure
there are people that like to help too.

OK - please ping if anything is unclear.

In CC a little updated version - I hope that is not too disruptive.
Added some additional info on the second page - age for target audience
for example. And captions with the images.

Cheers,
Cor

Is there an hybrid pdf version available?

What is the virtue of a hybrid PDF?

jonathon

Does anybody know what happened with the translation?

If there is no translation where can I find the original odt? The pdf is on website.

Hi Milos, Jonathon,

Does anybody know what happened with the translation?

If there is no translation where can I find the original odt? The pdf is
on website.

Is there an easy how-to, that prevents me consuming time in finding
information and so on? Would be really helpful.

Hi Cor,

I can set it up - I just need the Dutch document(s) for that
best

Did you have time to look at this?

Or did Jonathon the one with the idea to work on this?

Cheers - Cor

Hi all,
are there any new informations? An English translation?

are there any new informations?

_Maak je Mooiste werkstuk met LibreOffice Writer_.

I either got side tracked by another project, or else my dissociative
kicked into high gear.

An English translation?

A couple of pages into translating it, I realized that it would need
rewriting for a US audience. The major omission is how to setup the
template for SBL, APA, MLA, and Chicago Style Manuals. (Deliberately
ignoring BlueBook/Redbook, because that belongs in a guidebook
specifically targeting the legal profession.)

From 2011, on the LibO documentation site, is _Students’ Guide to

OpenOffice Writer_ by David Paenson, distributed under a Creative
Commons license. However, it doesn't specify which one. :frowning:

From 2015, at http://openoffice-uni.org/, there is _Apache OpenOffice

Writer for students_ by David Paenson, published under the Apache
License, version 2.0.
