Beta 1 of LO 4.4.0 is available

For people looking ahead to working on one of the books for LO v4.4
(especially Getting Started, Writer Guide, or Calc Guide), here is
some info to help you plan what needs to be added or changed in the
books and where is should go. Waiting until the final release is NOT
good practice for user documentation; wouldn't it be great if people
would start now? Yes, some details might change before release (see
next paragraph), and some screenshots might have to be replaced, but
you can PLAN and probably even write a draft.

The Beta1 can be installed alongside the stable version, so feel free
to give it a try. Beta1 is not ready for production yet, and while
Beta1 marks feature freeze, final UI and string freeze is yet to come
and translations are not complete.

Here is the release plan. See those dates?

Hi *,

Read about the cool new features in 4.4 here:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/4.4

No new features for Base. Will hope there aren't too much new bugs ...

German "Base Handbuch 4.4" will be ready when LO 4.4 will be released:
2015-02-01. Internal Firebird-Database is experimental as it was before
- so no new documentation is needed for this.

Regards

Robert
