BoD nominations

Hi

There are some fairly fantastic people in this team and it would be great to see some of you step forwards for nomination to the BoD.

I would really like to see Jean, Hazel and Sophie nominated, not just to address the gender imbalance but also because i think they would be great at expressing points of view that others on the BoD might not have thought about.    Documentation is a key aspect of any project and it's an area that often gets overlooked, possibly due to lack of representation at the higher levels.

Coders, marketeers and other groups get represented but rarely anyone from documentation.

People can nominate themselves which saves a lot of the fuss of asking people if they would mind and then deciding who does the nominating.  On the other hand people in this certain people might be shy or feel it is better to be nominated by someone else.

Probably best if it's not me doing the nominations though!  Is anyone else "up for" nominating people from this team?

For those members of the team who don't follow the Board-discuss list, I'll mention that the election has not yet been formally called, though people are being encouraged to consider nominating themselves or others.

Please note that only members of The Document Foundation are eligible to be members of the Board or to vote in elections. That leaves out Hazel, who is not a member of TDF.

I am a member of TDF and of the Membership Committee, which oversees the election of members of the Board of Directors. Unrelated to that, I will not be nominating for the BoD, and will I not accept a nomination if someone else wants to nominates me. My reasons are private, have nothing to do with TDF, and are not open for discussion.

Hi :)
There are a lot of other people on this list who i didn't name, who have worked hard and got great results.  They probably don't appreciate their own results quite as much as people in User Support and elsewhere appreciate them.

There are some great chaps in here as well as ladies.  Even if that doesn't deal with the gender imbalance it would help with the other issues if those issues were handled gently.

Hazel, please consider becoming a member.  Even if you don't go for nominations it would be great for TDF to have more members from more teams.

Sorry but being a member of anything doesn't interest me. I have enough
bumf in my inbox without that.
