Where to put information about internal processing?

Hi,

please have a look at
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/User:Regina/DraftColorAndToneAdjustment

It contains information how the color and tone adjustments are calculated internally. That does neither fit to a user guide nor to informations for core developers. Is there a suitable place in the Wiki, where I can put it?

"Fileformat" is a similar topic for which I don't know a suitable place.

Kind regards
Regina

Hi
How about
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/DraftColorAndToneAdjustment
or
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Faq/DraftColorAndToneAdjustment

I prefer the 1st option personally but what do other people think?

I agree with you Tom

I would prefer to see it on its own page. It's probably not a FAQ but it is
still useful to people who want to learn about colour and are prepared to
go through technical stuff to understand.

Regina,

did you think to start a blog of your own?

Your average contribution is of such high quality, that putting it into
a chaos wiki like the TDF wiki could/would devaluate it IMHO.

(Please do not bash me for the "chaos" feeling with our wiki. Just think
of a Joe Average user who wants to search something in the wiki. It's
not comfortable, in many cases you get results from different languages,
draft pages, deprecated stuff etc. It's far from being usable, at least
IMHO.)

No I had not considered an own blog and I think I'm too introvert to enjoy it.

Content is nowadays found by search engines. Therefore a "chaos" in the Wiki will not hinder users from finding content. Nevertheless a little bit structure is good for writing articles for the Wiki.

I have now added a section "Special Topics" to https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation and put my article there. Corrections are welcome.

Hi
Nicely done

Could you create the page name without underscores as underscores tend to vanish (or rather get hidden by the automatic underlining) when handing out Urls to people.  I thought the plan was to create this type of address
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/ColorAndToneAdjustments

I can set-up the redirect from the current page but i'm still not sure how to get a Table of Contents for the page.  How do you?  Is it a special template or something?  Also if i create the page then people initially think i have created the page and then think i'm trying to steal all the glory.

The page you made does look good though.

Underscores are the normal way for titles with spaces. If you use underscores it looks nice in the heading, because the underscores are replaced with spaces there. You can see this kind of URL everywhere a MediaWiki is used. I like it more than the CamelCase of MoinMoin-Wiki for example.

When you provide the URL as pure text, then it should not be underlined. If it is underlined, then it should work as link, and then it does not matter, whether the underscore can be seen or not.

No, I think it is correct as it is. You see the same with
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/Other_Documentation_and_Resources
for example.

The error was, that I did not name it that way on my personal page. So my question would be, how to erase User:Regina/DraftColorAndToneAdjustment
It is not needed anymore.

The table of content is a build-in feature. You can check in your personal preferences that a TOC is shown, if the page has more then 3 headings.

Hi
Thanks :)  So it's a personal setting in my own profile.

I really don't like that Other Documentation one either of course lol.  I really liked it the way you had it in your own section.  I'm kinda swimming against the tide here again aren't i?
