Interest as Author/Proofreader

Hi there,

I am interested in contributing to LibreOffice documentation as either an
Author or a Proofreader/Editor/Reviewer. I am most interested in
contributing to User Guides/Tutorials, but would like to contribute
whatever is most needed!

My background is in publishing - I graduated with a degree in English from
Cambridge University before getting a job as an Assistant Editor at a small
publishing company. I regularly edit and proofread content with reference
to style guides, and have some experience in producing documentation,
either for website users or for colleagues likely to work on similar
projects. I also, day-to-day, lay out content (text and graphics) so I used
to presenting information visually. I am used to writing for people who are
not computer literate and working with contributors for whom English isn't
the first language. I also do some voluntary work managing the update,
editing and proofreading of a festival survival guide.

If the above sounds promising, would I be able to get an ODFAuthors account?

Kind regards,
Natalie

I've set up your account; you should receive an email with a link to
set your password. Please also subscribe to this list, if you haven't
already done so.

Your background sounds great. Please look around on the wiki (separate
from the ODFAuthors website) and see what might interest you. In
addition to work on user guides or anything else, you're welcome to
improve the pages in the Documentation section to make them more
useful and the content less scattered.

At the moment we're working on user guides for LibreOffice v4.0, which
is due for release in mid-February. Would be nice to have at least the
Getting Started guide done by then.

Hi
Were you given an account at ODFauthors?  How is it going with working out what to do and how to get involved?  If you slipped through the net then many apologies for that.  If you have been posting prolifically then many apologies that i haven't noticed the posts!  Please let us know how it is going especially if there are things that could be improved in our wiki (or edit the wiki yourself is even better!).

Welcome in btw and
Many regards from
Tom
