Writer Guide chapters

Hi Jean
I've revisited the WG chapters you reviewed and posted them back to the Feedback folder.
Chapters 2,3,5-7,9-11, and 13 are hopefully now ready for final review.
Getting Started with Writer, GS4, has been placed in the 3.6 Drafts folder of GS.
I'm going to look at the GS3.5 Writer guide, which has been published, as it contains some errors.

Hi
None of the Writer 3.5 chapters are on the wiki yet.  When you say they are published already does that mean they are in Lulu stores but just somehow skipped our wiki?

Is it because i haven't left much room and people are still waiting for me to tidy the Draw section?  The Draw section has always looked fairly tidy to me even on some fairly strange screen-resolutions.  I've only just noticed what i think people wanted me to do with that so i might try this evening.  Anyway, feel free to add the Writer chapters to the wiki as they will automatically create space for themselves.

Hi Tom

Tom, no, Writer Guide v3.5 chapters are only on ODFAuthors at this time. I will update the wiki when most of them are done, probably over the weekend. I had not put any there before, because we were not sure that book would be done at all, or we might go directly to a book for v4. Nothing goes on Lulu (or anywhere else than the wiki) until the full book is compiled, obviously when all the chapters are done.

Note that when John referred to the GS3.5 Writer Guide, he meant the CHAPTER on Writer in the Getting Started Guide, which was published months ago. Several chapters contained errors, which we are fixing and republishing as they are fixed.

I also need to tidy up a few more things, mainly the folder structure for v3.5 vs v4, on ODFAuthors. Others can do that, but it may be easier for me because I have authority to move files and others may not have that authority.

Thanks, John. I've got some time today and tomorrow with a computer and Internet connection for downloading and uploading, and I'm hiding indoors from the hot & humid weather, so I'll try to get through all these chapters and publish them.

Hi
I've finally done the wiki from Calc onwards.  Some very drastic reductions in width.  Centered the Full Books under their branches' sections.  Also made the different guides a lot more consistent with each other in the wiki-coding.

I've thought about it and decided to leave Writer and GS for another day because anything Jean does is likely to be to those sections and content trumps layout.

Hi
My bike lock was so cold i couldn't fit the key in until i'd warmed it up a bit first and then it wouldn't turn.  I had to breathe on the lock to warm it up enough to turn.  Then i remembered my cigarrette lighter in my pocket and was quite glad i hadn't tried to set light to the lock or the tree my bike was locked to.  Coming down off the bridge i skidded on a patch of ice as i was turning across 2 lanes of traffic.

Did you see the YouTube videos of people warming their petrol tanks up by lighting fires under them in order to get their cars started!!!  I'm glad i'm not that far north!

I'll be home tomorrow and plan to upload most of the Writer Guide
chapters for v3.6 (NOT v3.5) as soon as I get a chance. If you want to
amend the widths and make other changes in that section of the
Publications page, as you did for Getting Started, that would be
helpful.
