Gridlines in Draw

Hey!

I really would like to have the gridlines in my Draw-document show up on
the printed copy. I can't find where to make this happen in Libreoffice
Draw.

If this isn't an option (yet), it's a really nice feature to have. For
instance, when people review technical drawings it's easier to get a sense
of dimensions of the drawing with gridlines. Or, I even find it easier to
hand-draw alterations and improvements, on the paper print of the model, if
I see the gridlines in the background.

I hope you will give me a reply, explaining to me how to make a printed
copy of my drawing in Libreoffice Draw with the gridlines showing.
Hopefully I have just missed it somewhere.

Btw. Libreoffice is a great software. Thanks!

Sincerely,
Stian G.

That it not possible yet. They are pure drawing helpers.

If I need a grid I draw it myself. That is done very quickly.
1. Define a new layer. That is useful, because you can lock the layer later on, so that you do not accidentally move the lines. Switch to that layer.
2. Draw a vertical line on the left edge.
3. Edit > Duplicate. Add the desired number and distance. OK
4. Draw a horizontal line on the top edge.
5. Edit > Duplicate. Add the desired number and distance. OK
6. Lock the layer.

If you need it often, you can make a document template containing such a layer.

If you want a printing option for the grid in the way it exists for the cells in Calc, than you should write an enhancement request in Bugzilla. I personally think, that there is no need for such a feature.

Kind regards
