New documentation contributor

Hello all,

Apologies if this is not the right place to ask. I'm interested in
contributing documentation- is there a list of needed tasks on the Wiki
that I've heard mentioned? Where is the wiki located? etc. If someone could
point me in the direction of a FAQ for newcomers, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,
Matt

Welcome!

Hi

I think the top priority at the moment (or at least the highest where it might be reasonably easy to find something to dig into straight away) is the work going into translating the Base Handbook from German to English.  I think a few chapters (quite a few?) are already done and just awaiting proof-reading and then someone to go through and deal with technical issues that crop-up.

If you already have a mission and/or a plan then that might be better for you to start on.  Mostly people pick their own targets and go for it.  Usually documentation is written in English (US) first and then translated to other languages so it's very unusual for the team to be translating something from any language.  Work is slowly being done to translate the Faq from French into English

The Base section got done in record time.  There isn't a full guide for Base the way there is for all the other progams/apps/modules such as Writer and the rest but it's being worked on.

Errr, i am just a lurker here.  Jean is the one really worth listening too as she has far more idea about what needs doing and who is working on what and leads the team really well.
