Accounts available on ODFAuthors site

If anyone in the LibreOffice Docs team would like an account on the
ODFAuthors site, please let me know and I'll set it up.

The LibreOffice section of that site is an alternative place for us to
keep our docs-in-progress (the LO wiki is another).

Because I am going to be away for a month from next week, I am
considering uploading all the files I've got, so someone else can get
copies and put them back on Alfresco when it's working again... and so
people can download files and keep working on revisions for v3.4.

I'm concerned that the Alfresco problem may have stopped work on v3.4
chapters, or at least stopped people from making their edited v3.4
chapters available for further review. If you are unable to get
chapters to work on, ask! I or someone will have a copy we can send
you or make available for download somewhere. If you have revised
chapters ready for review, let us know.

Let's keep working, even if the website isn't.

Hello Jean

I am still working away and some chapters are ready for review:

Impress Ch 03 Adding and Formatting Text
Impress Ch 04 Adding and Formatting Pictures

Getting Started Ch 06 Impress

Using the ODF site how do we control version numbers so everybody is working on the right page?

I have got Impress Ch 05 and 06 and will be starting work on Ch 05 this week.

Please setup an ODF account for me and let me know the details.

Regards

Peter

Peter,
I've set up your account. You should receive an email from the system
with a link to set your password.

What we've done at ODFAuthors in the past is append our initials and
the date to the filename, for example
IG3403-AddFormatText_PS_10Jan2012.odt

We also use a series of subfolders under each book name, which you'll
see when you log in:

May not be the best system, but it worked for us. As this is (I think)
a temporary measure, I'm not spending the time to revise for LO other
instructions, including how to check out files, which are in the OOo
section under Resources. Dan and other old-timers can also help with
any usage questions.

Looking forward to getting the three chapters you have ready for
review, especially the Getting Started chapter.

Hi Jean,

Thanks for the increased ODFAuthor site access.

That leads me to another another question;
Is there some user guide for how to use it? Process wise.

Regards

Ian

Ian,
A bunch of info is in here:
http://www.odfauthors.org/openoffice.org/english/userguide3/res3

Most of the info you need is in
http://www.odfauthors.org/openoffice.org/english/userguide3/res3/intro-oooauthors.odt/view
though some details are a bit out of date.

HI,

My apologies about the prolonged outage, but I'd need some help from
the Alfresco project for this. I'll get back to you as soon as I have
some news to tell...

Hello Jean

Got my login details for ODF Authors and everything seems to be working OK.

GS Chap 06 Impress
Impress Chap 03 and Chap 04

New draft versions of the above three chapters have been uploaded to ODF Authors ready for review.

Peter

Hi
Good work!  Much appreciated.  I think ODFAuthors is an excellent place to bring the various teams together.

Hi Jean,
I've out for the holiday season and just got back to find the Alfresco
issue.
I've appreciate an account on ODFAuthors site to upload Calc chapter 2 for
revision which I'm finishing right now.
I'm also working on chapter 3 which I hope to finish by the weekend.
Thank you

*Gabriel*

Excellent! As soon as I get my ADSL connection working again, I'll grab copies. Others are welcome to do so, too, of course.

Jean

I did, and it's working well.
Thanks

Hi
Can someone else set me up with an account at ODFAuthors?  Does anyone lese know how to do this or any admin level users that could use the practice?  It's not really urgent for me as i don't have anything to upload.  I would just like to wander around and have a look.
TIA and regards from
