We have established Open systems that are not completely dependant on any single individual. Even if David left it wouldn't be a catastrophe except in terms of losing a valued colleague, perhaps even friend. It would hurt but it wouldn't block people from continuing with the day-to-day work of producing documents here.
Gary's whole approach is a standard tactic used by one of those door-to-door salesmen that try to undermine what you do have and that works perfectly fine in order to sell you something that doesn't work and just causes problems.
I think it's better to learn to work with Alfresco rather than move to something Gary tries to cobble together as he goes along.
