Fonts, highlighting etc in user guides

I did an exhustive search of the available characters, and include some results in the discussion of options in my latest Template update.

Basically, there is no right-arrow character that matches the typography of letters of the words it would go between, in the freely available fonts I'm aware of, without needing more tricks with the enclosing paragraph's style as well! In particular, mathematical and symbol fonts have a bad value for total height so it makes the lines jump apart; this can be fixed by using an "exact" spacing of lines.

Short of drawing it ourselves in our own font, I'd say stick with the plain '>' character.

It's too bad the designers of body fonts don't draw the right-arrow to look like a -> ligature or like the appearance in the code charts; instead it is a useless speck! But that's where we are now.

Hi,

I'd say stick with the plain '>' character.

+1.
