Problems with my first Alfresco attempt

I clicked on "Edit Offline" and got:

Please correct the errors below then click OK.

    * Unable to check out Content Node due to system error:Transaction didn't commit: 01050007 Failed to send email to:[documentationmailinglist]

The file did in fact download, and there is no OK link of button.

The Custom view shows that it is still not "locked", but the Details view has my name on it as 'modifier'.

Please help.

I think that's my fault. I'm busy setting up notifications to the
mailing list (I'll post back with an update on Alfresco things when
I'm done in a couple of hours). I'll fix it quickly. Sorry for the
disruption.

Hi John,

How is your experience with Alfresco going now?

David Nelson

I got it sent to drafts, but it incremented the version twice. I assume that's from the aborted attempt earlier. If I'm not doing it right, let me know.

I do notice that when it times out, the log-in does not take me back to the page I was on. If I use the browser history, it gives an internal scripting error on the server. But, if I use my history back to a previous log-in, then click through it again, then it does take me back to the screen I was on!

Strange.

If supplying the log-in again (why not just use my cookie?) doesn't take me back to where I was trying to go, it will always be considered a bug.

Hmmmm... Maybe we have to take account of the fact of multiple server
restarts? Let's wait and watch. In any case, the logout time after
inactivity has been extended to 10 hours, so it should be more
convenient...
