No idea whether it has any impact, but you could try ending the string with
a newline. It is quite possible that stdout is line buffered.

Anyway, if you are in the debugger (Visual Studio) anyway and have
soffice.bin attached, why do you need to add temporary printfs to see
whether some place in the code is reached? Just add a breakpoint there.
