Will the command git clone http://anongit.freedesktop.org/git/libreoffice/help.git my_directory (1) correctly add the Help to the current repo?
Define "correctly" ;-) That command clones the help repository to some arbitrary location named my_directory, which is useful only if one wants to edit help content independent of the build environment and core repository. I assume you also want to integrate help into your existing build. See https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/Submodules for details and individual manual steps. (which admittedly does look confusing on first sight) The easiest to setup things is to configure ./autogen.sh --with-help and a subsequent make fetch will add the submodule and fetch the help repository to helpcontent2 if it doesn't exist already. Note that to be able to push commits to gerrit you'll still need to add the correct pushurl entry to .git/modules/helpcontent2/config so that will look something like [remote "origin"] url = git://gerrit.libreoffice.org/help pushurl = ssh://YOURGERRITUSERNAME@gerrit.libreoffice.org:29418/help To pull and rebase for a build update you should make using the ./g command a habit, i.e. ./g pull -r Also switching branches would be ./g checkout branchname ./g does also the necessary submodule updates.
