Could this bug [1] be also related to the GDI problem ?
I can open it on Linux but not on Windows, and I'm getting the 'bad
allocation' error as well.
With both bugs, I tried to monitor the GDI objects with a tool called
GDIView but the number of GDI didn't increase while reproducing the crashes.
