That is not what the wiki says. It says "Visual Studio 2013 is the preferred compiler for new developers." It also goes on to say "Visual Studio 2015 is known to work on current master." If you are a new developer, I suggest you follow the wiki's advice. The wiki contains everything you need to get started and is full of useful tips.
