Probably best would be to walk up the stack a little and see if you can
get the code that calls the allocator to reduce the number of times it
needs to do so.
I always find that it way more useful (and more fun) than fiddling with
custom allocators :-)
I'm not sure if I understand your comment. Can you please clarify what you
mean with that? Maybe my understanding of our memory allocators is bad but
I see not how this comment applies to the discussion.
