In next few weeks, I would improve this and add more LOK calls in
separate threads.
Ideally we'd also return the progress update pieces as well and render
that in the client as a bar; and naturally it's a lot slicker if we can
render tiles in a separate thread without blocking the UI thread's
interactivity.
