Hi,

I started to work on Photo Album: Better Image Layout bug #64575 . Image
size calculation is implemented and committed to gerrit. But I haven't
finished crop function yet.

I found some code pointers about CropHandlers [1] [2]. But I need some help
to use on my code.
I am trying to give "rectangular area" information to crop end point. I
already have image size and top left corner coordinate for rectangular
area. As I understand from code pointers, I should give Rectangle (left,
top, right, bottom) to create SdrHandlers. I use SdrHandlers and
GraphicObject to create SdrCropHandler. But I don't know exactly how can I
create them.

Thanks for your help.

--- Comment #4 from Katarina Behrens <bubli@bubli.org> ---
This bug has been fixed as a part of GSoC 2015 application process. While I
would accept the code as non-trivial easy hack, thus a valid GSoC
application
(the candidate fixed the bug and demonstrated understanding of LibO code),
I do
question the validity of this bug. Here is why:

1. Sure, selecting (highlighting) the value of a text|spin box makes it
easier
for the user to delete the value or input their own value. But some users
might
want to use the mouse and change the spin box value by clicking on spin
buttons. Highlighting the value might become confusing for them. One man's
bug
is the other man's feature

2. What to do if there are more input fields in the dialog? Select the
first
one? Or some other one? What if it's not the one the user wants to change?
(selecting multiple input fields is iirc not possible)

3. Finally, if we decide to select (hightlight) the values of input
field(s) on
opening the dialog, we should do it consistently in every LibO dialog and
sidebar.

UX team: any thoughts?

Subject: RFC: WinBits enum class conversion, push down to subclasses?
Message-ID: <55150813.70207@peralex.com>
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8; format=flowed

Hi

So I started looking at converting the WinBits WB_* defines in

   include/tools/wintypes.hxx

to an 'enum class', and after a few changes and discovering that there are
lots of WB_ macros scattered around that
simply define a new WB_ value as pointing to an existing one e.g. in

   include/svtools/ivctrl.hxx
   #define WB_ICON         WB_RECTSTYLE
   #define WB_SMALLICON    WB_SMALLSTYLE

, I think that this whole thing needs a rethink.

Specifically, I think that

(*) we need to push these style things down to the subclass-specific level
where each one applies, instead of
multiplexing them into a single field at the root level

(*) we need to convert to using setter methods to turn them on and off

Further, I would suggest that

(*) the setter methods have the style

         MyWindowSubclass& MyWindowSubClass::SetFoo(bool b = true)

     so to make the code easier to write when setting multiple style flags
i.e. we can then write

         MyWindowSubclass x();
         x.SetFoo().setBar();

If there is agreement on this, I will create an EasyHack for this.

Regards, Noel.

--- Comment #5 from Heiko Tietze <heiko.tietze@user-prompt.com> ---
I'd say the most important control in a dialog should get the focus.
Looking
around for a reference at the Gnome HIG I found the following comment in
/gtk/gtkdialog.c

/* A far too tricky heuristic for getting the right initial
* focus widget if none was set. What we do is we focus the first
* widget in the tab chain, but if this results in the focus
* ending up on one of the response widgets _other_ than the
* default response, we focus the default response instead.
*
* Additionally, skip selectable labels when looking for the
* right initial focus widget.
*/

So the right way for LO is to focus the first control that can receive the
focus, as suggested by Eric. And if the dialog is designed well the most
important control is located top left (for LTR layout) and is the first in
the
tab sequence, e.g. initialization of the dialog.

I like Heiko's suggestion.

Note that we already have a sortIntoBestTabTraversalOrder, so we should
just be
using the first widget which that method produces.

Any changes or fixes to the tab order should be done inside that method.

AFAICS all the odt and sxw crashers are the same assert, where they have
embedded charts in the document. Layout occurs, during layout we want to
call getMapUnit on the objects which terrifyingly loads the object from
storage and updates it. The chart's data source is the document itself
and GetFormatAndCreateCursorFromRangeRep is called. That has a
"UnoActionRemoveContext" whatever that is which calls EndAction which
seems to want to flush pending layout actions or something of that
nature. Either way triggering the assert of SwLayAction that one is
already underway.

I haven't really any insight into the whole writer layout thing here,
but afaics there is not need to set the chart from loaded to running in
order to getMapUnit (which is always the same value) or to update its
visualSize. So...

http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=757f461ef12548af0be470f7c05ff67df3dc1314

special cases charts and short-circuits that odd interaction, which
seems to work fine in practice.

Hi

So I started looking at converting the WinBits WB_* defines in

   include/tools/wintypes.hxx

to an 'enum class', and after a few changes and discovering that there
are lots of WB_ macros scattered around that
simply define a new WB_ value as pointing to an existing one e.g. in

   include/svtools/ivctrl.hxx
   #define WB_ICON         WB_RECTSTYLE
   #define WB_SMALLICON    WB_SMALLSTYLE

, I think that this whole thing needs a rethink.

Specifically, I think that

(*) we need to push these style things down to the subclass-specific
level where each one applies, instead of
multiplexing them into a single field at the root level

Yeah, ideally that'd be the case. There are almost certainly bugs in
here already with different overlapping WB_ from different logical
groups getting or-ed together so it'll probably be a bit of a pain to
unpick.

Hello!! I am Chiranjeev Gupta and wanted to submit a proposal to you
based
on the idea given above in the link.
I would like to ask as to what particularly is to be cached . Are those
the
files names that have been previously viewed or the ones which have been
edited??

I guess the idea is that right now it can happen that we throw away some
tile and later re-render it, while we would have enough memory in the
Android client to keep them in some kind of cache. Please comment in the
bugreport if you have a specific question.

Thanks,

Miklos

The good news is that it compiles

https://gist.github.com/mariuz/bcde7f783b657b2465e5

configure flags removed in firebird 3.0

--disable-super server is no more (super and superclassic are one)
--with-system-icu is not needed , firebird defaults on compiling with the
system icu

(MAKE) firebird_embedded target is no more
we build all (required for fbclient)

fbclient works like fbembedded so we have to modify a few paths

I will review the rest of the patches to be integrated into firebird 3.0
upstream tree
