Yes, that slowdown occurs with different versions of LO for me as well.

I can reproduce the issue with (at least, didnt try any others)
LibreOffice 4.2.7.2 (Ubuntu 14.04), LibreOffice 4.3.4.1 (Fedora 21),
and master.
