Bug 73650 : no more slideshow, a serious regression on windows 8.1.
Cannot replicate this issue under Win 7 & 8.1 using:

The test slideshow from Bug 73650 and my own test files display perfectly in
all the above configurations, both with and without hardware acceleration.
