I am not an expert in this area, but this seems to be the main 
implementation of the Notes:

It is called PostIt internally, so I would search for this for more 
pointers: http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/search?q=postit&project=core

This file is called printdata.cxx and has some PostIt-Variables there: 
http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/sw/source/core/view/printdata.cxx

Hope that is enough to get started, you might come back with more
