Hi Noel,
So, since you feel so strongly about this, I'm okay with you and Michael
Stahl make the final decision.
I won't be commenting or reviewing the change. I trust you two can make
the sound judgment in the end.
i delegate my decision making powers to moggi, who knows this problem best.
I only feel strongly that the current situation is 'worse'. I have no
doubt that the patch was put in for good reason in the past to generally
improve the display, However currently in 4.0 and 4.1 the situation
seems to be the reverse, e.g with the patch it appears to be worse,
I can't comment about the problem the orig patch was supposed to address
because no-one seems to have a reproducer document ( do they? ) I can't
judge the benefits of leaving the patch in/out except that with the
patch out multiple issues with a test document with varied border types
in fdo#60805 seem fixed. I am just annoyed because I spent so much time
digging and no one can show me that things are indeed worse if the patch
were to be removed. So if moggi does indeed know this problem ( and
perhaps has some documents to verify things ) then find let him decide then
Noel ( cranky arsed f*cker)
