From a user perspective, LO only currently supports images as a
recognized binary stream, the others are all replaced in tables,

"user code" = code written by a non-LibreOffice programmer that uses
LibreOffice's API (UNO / sdbc(x), ...), so that's mostly independent
of whether LibreOffice provides UI widgets to handle it or not.
