I have java-1_6_0-openjdk installed.
I also trried with java-1_7_0-openjdk, but that had the same result, so I switched backup to 1_6.

try removing gcj instead.

or perhaps you have some "alternatives" like thing in your distro where
you can give OpenJDK a higher priority than gcj?

oh we also have --with-jdk-home in configure, maybe that works for you...
