CC'ing Roman Eisele, as he might be one of the people using it (judging
from his comment in the bug). Roman, do you use this for anything?
no, sorry -- I have never used this feature for anything.
I just stumbled over this function (and noticed that it currently leads
to a crash, see https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=53681) when
I checked systematically all dialog windows which have already been
converted to the new .ui format (Widget Layout). One of these dialog
windows is the "Insert Plugin" dialog window.
I remember that I wondered (just like Astron) what this "Insert Plugin"
feature was, what it was supposed to do, etc. In a quick search, I did
not find any answer. So it may be save just to remove this function
completely -- which would also obsolete the bug report cited above ;-)
Best regards,
Roman
