[PATCH] Removed splash screen

Hi,

I have submitted a patch for review:

Removed splash screen

The splash screen doesnt seem to be actually useful, more like an
marketing artifact from ancient commercial times, with tendencies
of just disturbing the user experience ;-P

OTOH it adds additional complexity to application startup and
doens't actually make debugging easier.
