Then we can trivially add this to the desktopdetector.cxx and fix all
lightdm users in our next release. But of course you'd need to come up
with that information and/or a patch
Well, actually I can't propose any patch.
I don't think you're right ! :-) if you read the link I gave you and
spend say 30 minutes poking at it, as a casual non-expert you should be
able to have an educated guess as to what to add/change.
I have no skill in developpement. I'm simple user ; I would never have
been able to solve my problem if someone had not tell me how to do on
the user mailing list.
;-) that is because it's just a matter of 'knowing' not a matter of
applying yourself.
But I can post every information you need.
For example, I can say that the problem occured even when using GDM.
GDM is not so relevant, you need to read what I wrote & the
desktop_detect code & make some suggestions.
May I make a report on all that on Bugzilla ?
Of course - if you don't want to hack, discuss patches & how the code
works, please file stuff there, and not on the developers mailing list.
You would want to attach the mail I wrote too for a hacker in that bug
report too to avoid it being lost / useless.
Thanks :-)
Michael.
