Sounds sensible to me. Of course, it also helps others see how large
the delta is that Ubuntu is carrying and help <cough> encourage you to
shrink / genericise those changes.
However, I might move/rebase/cherrypick quite a bit in that branch so
there would be some noise (although not on master) -- which might be a
drawback.
The noise also helps with the above I guess :-)
Are there any objections against creating such a branch? If not, I
would create it as "distro/ubuntu/oneiric-3.4".
