Unfortunately yes, IMO this is some bug in gcc 4.6.0, hence the
fedora-only-ness of it. Happens only on x86, but I haven't been able to
isolate it as a standalone test-case to submit to gcc to prove its a
compiler problem. At least now I know its not fedora-only.
